knowmore (house of commons)

visual artist - biomorphic animations & creature visualisations. State Library of Queensland commission, toured to the Mediations Biennale Poznan.

my contribution

I created the biomorphic animations, creature visualisations, and the microfiche periodic table imagery at the centre of KNOWMORE (House of Commons). My visual work transformed the installation's conceptual concerns - political knowledge, collective memory, and ecological entanglement - into moving, living form. The creatures and animated imagery I produced became the expressive language through which participants encountered and processed the work's content.

about the work

KNOWMORE (House of Commons) was a large-scale interactive installation that invited participants into an immersive environment exploring how we inhabit, process, and relate to collective political and ecological knowledge. The work took its name from a database of political donations and lobbying - asking how we come to know what we know about shared governance, and what we do with that knowledge.

Central to the experience were my biomorphic animations: creature-like forms derived from microscopic imagery, biological data, and my own generative design processes. These visualisations moved through the installation space, responding to participant interaction and making the abstract concrete - translating data and political content into organic, sensory experience.

The microfiche periodic table imagery wove together scientific notation, archival aesthetics, and biological form, producing a visual language entirely specific to this work. The installation was commissioned for the State Library of Queensland and later toured internationally to the Mediations Biennale in Poznan - one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in Poland.
